TUI Cruises’ Sustainability Strategy 2030

TUI Cruises carried out a comprehensive materiality analysis to identify those sustainability aspects most relevant to the company. This analysis provides the basis for the Sustainability Strategy 2030, which defines the strategic and operational framework for our sustainability commitment.

Our compass for the whole company

The strategy is based on three central pillars: Planet, People, and Progress. These structure our activities and set priorities—focusing, among other things, on measures to reduce our environmental footprint, on social issues, and on the further development of our corporate processes. Four key areas of action have been defined for each of these three pillars; we are working on them with particular intensity throughout the current decade. They provide us with direction and enable us to prioritize our activities.

Responsibility for Sustainability

The department Sustainability Management reports directly to the company Management and is responsible for the strategic control of all relevant topics for both our Mein Schiff ® and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises brands. Its position at the corporate center promotes short decision-making processes and close collaboration with all company areas. Specially trained Environmental Officers on board our Mein Schiff ® fleet secure close integration with the Maritime Operations Management team.

The comprehensive know-how of our parent companies helps us drive the continuous improvement of our sustainability performance. The Sustainability teams at TUI Group and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. support us actively and promote the ongoing exchange of sustainability knowhow across the Group. This allows us to strengthen our sustainability work through international collaboration and combined expertise.
