Another milestone for Mein Schiff Flow: TUI Cruises celebrates floating up in Monfalcone, Italy

Mein Schiff Flow, the sister ship of the recently launched Mein Schiff Relax, has water under its Kiel for the first time. After the valves for flooding the dry dock at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone were opened, around 130 million litres of water flowed into the dock and ensured that the ship floated successfully. An important milestone for the second newbuilding in the InTUItions ship class.

On Wednesday, Roberto Benvenuto, the shipyard's parish priest, blessed the ship with prayers and holy water - in keeping with the ancient tradition of Christian seafaring. Anna Russo, the shipyard's godmother, smashed a bottle of Prosecco on the hull of the Mein Schiff Relax. This Italian tradition is carried out to evoke the happiness of the ship and all those who will sail on it as soon as it floats.

Wybcke Meier, CEO TUI Cruises, and Cristiano Bazzara, Director of the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, celebrated this emotional moment together: "The launch of Mein Schiff Flow is a very special moment for us. Following the successful launch of Mein Schiff Relax in April this year, we are delighted to be able to present its sister ship to our guests soon. Guests will be able to experience the lightness of Mein Schiff Flow as early as next summer," says Wybcke Meier, CEO TUI Cruises.
