Your arrival and departure are paid for and organised by your employer, and accommodation and catering on board are free of charge for you. You are also covered by health and accident insurance during your time on board.

On the Mein Schiff® fleet, crew members can use the guest areas in their free time, such as the various bars or speciality restaurants such as Surf & Turf or Hanami - By Tim Raue - although availability depends on occupancy.

During your first assignment, an experienced crew member - your "Rookie Coach" - will help you quickly find your feet on board and ensure that you quickly feel at home. You'll have a buddy at your side straight away and will settle in quickly.

All our ships offer an exclusive crew sundeck with loungers, lounge furniture and parasols - ideal for sports, breaks, sunsets or crew events.

You can really work out in the exclusive fitness area - on the Mein Schiff® fleet you can even use the guest gym at certain times after work.

This is the perfect place to meet colleagues, party and relax, with drinks, music and a short walk from your cubicle.

In other exclusive crew areas, you can use games consoles, table football, pool tables or borrow games, books, magazines and DVDs in your free time on board - just as you like.

Get involved in the crew committee and organise leisure activities such as parties, bingo, sports courses or shore excursions and provide variety on board. You will play an important role in creating the unique on-board culture.

As a crew member, you can explore the harbours and destinations as soon as your schedule allows. With a little planning and unique insider tips from the crew, you can experience unforgettable adventures ashore during your lunch break or after work.

On board, you will be supported with further education, training and development opportunities to further your career and personal development. Whether it's professional training, mandatory safety training or the shipping company's own environmental training - on board you will have the opportunity to develop yourself further in various areas.

The experiences you have on board are unique. This is why we and our partners favour internal promotions when filling senior positions. As part of the team, you are already familiar with everyday life on board, the processes and the ship. With the right experience and commitment, you have the best chance of reaching the next career level.

Fancy new horizons? Cross training on board gives you an insight into other areas, such as stage or guest care, guest service, shore excursions and many others. On our expedition fleet, you can even get a Zodiac licence on some trips or accompany guests - enquire at the crew office.

On our ships, we offer international crew members language courses, in particular German courses at various levels, to improve their qualifications and career opportunities.
